Lang Hotel

This hotel was pretty nice. Spacious and comfortable, with breakfast included, so what more could you really want?! The breakfast wasn't like, top notch or anything, but it was food to get you started. This is crucial in a world where most places don't open til 11am!!

What to do

Ueno Ameyoko Shopping Street

I mean, if this is your thing? It is too anxiety inducing for me, so I don't recommend, but I can see how many people would enjoy it!

Yamashiroya

Oh, look at that, it's another toy store! This might be my favourite one.

Ueno Zoo

This is a no for me. Look, if you have kids it might be hard to say no to a zoo, but I more and more with most zoos and aquariums feel pretty uncomfortable about the lives being given to the animals. There are exceptions to that, but this isn't one. For all the wonderful things of Japan, the animal welfare seems to be behind the times still.
